Crohn's Disease... diagnosed in 1992. Severely scarred rectum, anus and large intestine resulted in having permanent ileostomy surgery in 2002. Protocolectomy included. My life is about a lot more than this ostomy of course. But there's no doubt that this painful disease and body-altering surgery has made ruptions and repercussions in all aspects of life, and I now tend to approach life from the inside out. All my insides, my shit, my guts, have been opened up to the public... and it's helped me see we all have all this shit on the inside. And we go on...
